Very impressive and all, but here's why:

Tswassen (Vancouver) - Victoria
Passenger vehicle up to 20' long $43.00
Adult passenger $13


Seattle - Bainbridge Island
Passenger vehicle $11.55
Adult passenger $6.70

And for Vancouver Islanders, BC Ferries has 'em where the hair is crisp. There's no choice, except fly. Or swim. Bainbridgers can drive around.

So if you're willing to pay triple the fare for your car, and almost double for passengers (exchange rate taken into account), I'm sure Washington State Ferries would be glad to build floating palaces. Like anybody's ever going to sit still for tripling the fare. I can just hear the squealing from the Vashon Islanders now. They might even (finally) build a bridge over Colvos Passage.
