  • Tank/Seat platform project photos

    I finished the tank replacement, covered the tank tops with a black neoprene type pad (actually an excercise mat) repainted the tank panels and then decided that while I was at it I might as well build a platform/storage area for the pilot seat. After talking to Jeff I came up with a heavy duty project. It is made out of 2x6 frames, 3/4 inch exterior plywood, and lots of stainless hardware. I painted everything with primer and Interlux to keep out the water. It is solid! However, it also added about 25 lbs to the boat. The good news is I now have a better view than what I originally had. Its tough being short...

    That looks like it will hold up for sure. No worries on that breaking down.
    Never can have enough storage anyway.
    Most of the stuff in my 59 Skagit was made out of Oak!
