  • 55 coming along

Just thought I'd share some pictures, of my 55 thats coming along, with you all here. I didn't really like the OEM blue paint, so I went with a cobalt blue. I'm still working on the power head. I'll post more soon.VeryBigSmile

        Go Bearcat

I am not sure who designed that cowling, but looking at it, even the one I have that had been rattle canned with black primer, looks good.

But, for a fishing machine or just plain putting around engine, its really hard to beat for the price. And, the idea if you any kind of wrench, you can do all the wrenching on it yourself, no bastard ignition parts with a nasty marriage contract with the Stealership. Hate that

Darrel, it's looking really nice! Am I going to see this in the lake this year? I'd like to paint one up to match my boat, but about the only color I've seen that I like is silver. One of these days I might do that.:BigWink1:

"Stealership"? I used to buy the OMC case glue, Type 46(?), got it from Mike at Oregon outboard Salvage for $7. Good sized tube, Mike is long gone so off to the Stealership, Mercury bellows cement, half the size of the OMC and twice the price!!

I've got the itch to put mine in the water and the lake doesn't open till the end of May. Don't want to run the untried engine in the river. I'm thinking I should be able to run it at Estacada Lake now. I'll have to look into that.

Right now the next project will be a 1964 16ft Harvey (Runabout I think). Hope to have it done and in the water before the end of this season. There's a lot of work though.
