  • Free Dorsett Catalina with 100hp Frozen Merc

    Here is the deal.
The Catalina needs Everything and has a Frozen, Broken (lower unit) short shaft 100hp Merc on the back. Transom is rotten, floors have been replaced and foamed but the floor was not sealed up and now needs replaced.
    No Hardware.
    No Trailer.

Here is how this might work out.
If you only want the Motor, then you bring a trailer, I help you load the motor in the back of your truck, you tow the boat up to the local dump and pay to have it deposed (Yes, there is a title to it) CutUp1

The disposal cost will be what you pay for the motor.
    Or, Freecycle it, who knows...

Do you have the front faceplate for the motor? Not shown in any of the pictures...

Man....You know if I didn't need them, they would be yours....But, I am going to use them on the other Dorsett, sorry.

They are not the best either.

You would think there would be a company making replacement jewels as this seems to be the most common fault of face plates... My face plate is 100% perfect, except the jewel fell off and got smashed into 4 jagged pieces...:nono1:

I have looked at this site, they have done some amazing work on all the vintage Mercury decals and emblems. Unfortunately they stop at 1963 and I need to the 1964/65 anniversery emblem...

                            Its pretty crap.
It was a plastic wind screen that was off something else that they either cut down or was smaller and just Screwed it to the helm.

                              Hey Matt...
Kind of having second thoughts about even letting it go right now....
Not sure about junking it out more than I have as its really not a total loss.
I have seen were worse have been brought back to life...

I see Perko is bring back the 50's look on some its hardware so no need to even chrome stuff, just go buy it now...

If you brought a trailer and wanted the whole thing, I would still let it go but like I said, not sure about junking it out.......at the moment......opcorn1:
