Cool boat, should clean up nicely. Looks the same as Chuck's '59. Did you buy it?

The rub rail is exactly what I have on my 404. You can get new inserts for it from Wefco.
The cabin framing also looks similar to what I have as well. I would bet that it is the same extrusion.

And Mike, you are nuts! Good job snatching all these boats up for future restoration.

Digging up an older thread... Am I the only one that thinks this is a '60 vs a '59? Just looking at the cabin roof line and the side trim that surrounds the Skagit badge.

I think it was Tim Jones that may have been the one to tell me this. Seems that after the factory burned down in 1961? that they had a few of parts outside that maybe 6 or more were produced in 1967?

Anyone else know anything about this. Tim?

My Vote is 61. Have seen only a couple with this cabin mold design. The ridge with the navigation light on the cabin top is very unusual- not a 59 or early 60. Possible change occurred late in 60 on that cabin design. The 59 and 60 models had a hatch on the cabin top, not bow top. Then the trim on the hull is late 60 into 61, with the two colors. It was a solid color angled stripe for 59, early 60. Would have loved to have found this particular boat's serial # plate.
Skagit ceased operations at the end of 1960. Howard Roberts was tasked with finishing the remaining boats into 1961. Factory workers have claimed that just a dozen or so boats were the final run, supposedly a mix of hull sizes. The mold we found on the factory site in 2002 was a deck mold of the 17 Skimaster.

I'd say it's a late 61, probably one of the last Skagit 20's built. Never seen one with the hatch in the bow. New one to me. Lots of details say 61. Insert rub rail, brow, slotted side trim, headdress Skagit logo. Don't know if the bridge windshield is original? It's a rare one. Hope somebody restores it to original as possible....
                        Good find

Here are more I have of the 59 up. We can move this part of the tread when needed.

Tim, you still have that little Skagit Tender ? Was it one of these in the pic's?
