Learning Curve.....Dialed In !

I've been painting two part urethane for two weeks now. Made a lot of mistakes that will have to be sanded out and reshot. Luckily I bought a lot of paint. Painted all the small parts today, inside the hatch covers, inside window frames, and the mast and numerous other small parts of the boat.

Best paint job yet. Finally have the correct reducer and ratio and have my 55 year old Devilbiss gun working well too. Exchanged about a dozen emails with the tech staff at International paint. There is a lot to know about this spray painting thing. Be happy to share my experiences in detail here on the NWCBC site.

Spray Painting...

Yeah, very tricky business. It seems that every time we paint with two-part products--whether spraying or brushing--the exact formula for paint, catalyst and reducer changes slightly...depending on air temp, humidity, what our mood rings are saying and god knows what else. And we've learned that the manufacturers' instructions are only a starting point!
