  • Early Uniflite Cuddy Cabin Project

    Hi
I am from down the coast in Monterey CA and just picked up this project boat.
I saw that "RicPhoto" had one like it. It is from up your way and was wondering if anyone had a guess on the Year? Any suggestions or recommendations from expereance with this Builder? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

    Uniflite Cuddy Cabin Boat

The one that Ric has is over here at my place as we started a trade out deal for it and it is supposed to be a 1961.
Not sure who has much information about these boats.

We have a couple of guys that might know quite a bit about them but they are not on our forum board.
John Nelson has one and has had it for quite some time.
Bill Roberts, the NW Bearcat guy is pretty knowledgeable about lots of the older boats but not sure what forum he can be found on now, maybe fiberglassics.com?

Marty Loken is another person that knows a lot of history on boats and he is on this forum so I would suspect him to jump in when he sees this post.

Tim Jones knows lots of history of boats in our area as well. He too is on this forum so I think you might get some answers here.

      Project boats

      Howdy
I am a newcomer to this site, not familuar with your boat but I am in your neighbor hood. I live near Salinas and work in Monterey. Trying to set up a boat to fish the bay again and am into fixing floor stringers and trasom.
21' Arrowglass mostly open boat and a Glasspar Seafair Sedan.
Like your style of boat, wish I would of shoped around better.
I would be happy to share what I find out as my project[s] proceed.

Thanks for all the great leads, I start tracking these people down.
I am really a motor guy, and just starting to learn about fiberglass.
So I am sure there will be a lot questions in the future.

        Hey Paul
Yes I will need all the help you can offer.
I am just north of you off 101.

Not a problem as you will find a bunch of folks here doing this kind of stuff.
One user has taken glass from several different boats and added sweet lines to one, others have done quite a bit of restoration work.
But when you say you are a Motor guy, how about this for a motor
They are like Harley Davidsons, once you do some serious riding on one, got to have them.
Then here is the Uniflite after I did a top for it.
It Does rain up here, A Lot !!!

          Little bit of both here.

Just so you know, the good wife and I have been looking at property in the Delta's (?) between Stockton Ca and San Francisco Bay area.
Means I can hang more with our Sister club down your way.

The sister club sent me here

I ran pictures of the boat past the folks at GSG, and they told I should buy it, and then someone recommend your group might have more info about a local product.

Delta is our ultimate destination as we are Houseboat/island shopping right now.

Hope to see you down here sometime.

              Uniflite

              Craig,

Art Nordvedt left Bell Boy in 1957 and started United Boat Builders (Uniflite)the same year. This Uniflite is from 1960 or 61. I remember seeing this model at the boat show. My best guess.....
