  • Let the fun begin!

I'm getting ready to clean up my Skagit 25 and I have a question for those of you that have a lot of Skagit experience.

In the attached photo, you will see a couple of sections of the engine area that have concrete poured into them. Is this original to the boat? I'm thinking that this must have been someones version of internal trim tabs?

My plan is to put in a sub-floor and foam under it, as I will be converting the boat over to an outboard.

You thoughts and suggestions are always appreciated!

Are you sure it is concrete? It might be collapsed foam. It gets funky after a few decades. I pulled a bunch of it up from the Bell Boy and the Glasspar when I redid the floors. The rest of the floor in there looks awful clean for it to be something as silly as redi-crete.

      Parts Boat

karl, I am selling my 1960 24' skagit that is the outboard version. $600 including trailer. Title for both. Thought you could use cowling for over outboard unless your hanging it off a jack plate. John

I think Marty would know but he is a little trip right now.

I would say, loose the concrete or whatever that is.

Too many Donor boats with those larger trim tab setups on them to choose from....:Skipper1:

If I didn't have my Skagit already, I would love to buy your whole boat! Thanks for the offer on the cowling cover. But I plan on hanging the engine (s) off of a jack plate.
