  • More Skagit 20 work

Today was a snowy day. No real urge to work outside so I decided to take some time and do something for my skagit that I'd envisioned for some time.

You see, those upper windshields were missing something.. to me anyway.

So, I headed to the hardware store for a little wood, screws, filler & glue. My plan? To make a plug for an aluminum casting which would end up being the center windshield brace.

If anyone with a 1957 or 58 17 footer or 20 with the upper split windshield is interested in one of these, let me know. I'm having it cast in aluminum shortly.

So, on we went. A few pics of the progress.

Wow!! Nice job Kelly. The wood work looks pretty good as it is. But cast metal will hold up longer. Thanks for the progress update.
