  • Finally!

After 2 years of trying, I finally got the Glasscraft wet and I didn't have to row it back to shore. Thanks to Marty for his "thinning of the herd" and to Thom for dialing it in, I now have added a 63' Merc 850 to my collection.

Yesterday, I was able to put the boat in and take a couple of laps before the weather turned. If all goes well, "opening day" will be her next trip!

Gee, we only get one teaser photo?

If the boat looks as good as that Merc then she's a real beauty!

            Gordon......I have a Merc.
Fact is, it was a Great runner until it ate the lower bearings, which is one of those that is supposed to be a real bugger to get it out.
I hope to fix it one day.

Its sat for about 5 years now, what should I expect to replace? All the electronics ??

Way to get the job done and get it on the water. There's just something about old outboards. Those Merc's are some great looking engines.

                  Thanks for the kind words.

Regarding the Skagit 25', as of right now, I plan to hang a Yamaha 225 off the back end. I really like the idea of having all of the room that an outboard offers. My neighbor is giving me the Yamaha (it does have a blown cylinder?). However, my ideas are like the wind, all over the place.

No matter what, I promised my wife that I wouldn't spend any money on the Skagit until I remodel the kitchen, spare bath, and master bedroom of our house. Right now, I've got two down and one to go! I hope to get started on the Skagit next summer.

Now there is an interesting word, Remodel.....
Are the cabinets broken....Wall's broken, and master bedroom.....I don't get it.
I am going to Remodel my Truck.....Nah, that does not work..

Anyway, interesting word and who gets to use it.

                      "Here we go!"

What a great day on Saturday! I started out by adjusting the bunks on the trailer and then washing and waxing the Winged Warrior. By 1pm, I couldn't resist it any more and put it the water.

Per Thom's orders, I haven't openned the Merc all of the way yet. But, at about 3/4 throttle I showed 30 mph on a cheap gps.

This is a fun boat! (but aren't they all?)
