  • Lake Chelan, anyone??

Michele and I have booked a Seaplane / Wine tasting tour on Lake Chelan this saturday and we have decided to make a boating weekend of it.

We will be arriving some time Friday evening with the boat (looking at staying at Kelly's Resort on Southshore or possibly Campbells in Chelan, or plan C is the state park) we will be out on the lake Saturday morning (Seaplane departs at 3 pm) Then probably back on the lake for a little on Sunday morning.

If anyone is going to be in the area or is looking for an excuse to go east to warmer weather let us know and we can cruise the lake together...

Be carefull on the lake, was there last weekend, water is 15-20 below full, some boat launches are really hard to use for bigger boats, lots of stuff floating on the lake from all the rain we have had over here in the last few weeks.

So we opted to play it safe and didn't bring the boat, glad we didn't I have never seen a lake this far below normal level!!! The swim ladders mis the water by only about 2 feet!! George you were right, the flotsam in the lake is frightening! We have seen an entire tree float by our cabin!!!

Time to get nervous is when entire cabins float by your cabin! Just back from Bridgeport State Park. Rufus Wood is full of water and Chief Jo Dam is pouring water over every spillway. Both Okanogan and Methow were at flood stage. Funny weather!

Yeah the entire Chelan county is under a severe weather warning for flooding, that's why the Corp has the lake so low is in preparation for all the water coming down... There was a landslide a mile from our resort at 3 pm yesterday... Weird weather indeed...
