Joe, There is still two Skagit's in the tent. That shelter has seen quite a few boats.

Rick,That is Itchy...the name was only till i maybe got the itch ( i got it ) and then i would change the name to something else. Vashon and Bainbridge were sister ferries ( there was a third one named Kitsap ) with the Black Ball ferry line before Washington State took over. They named after the islands. So the two Skagits are named after the two ferries and islands where we had a summer cabin.

Stay tuned... "Kitsap" is sure to follow at a shelter near Mill Creek...

              vashon?

              Chuck,

I rode the vashon, when I was a kid.

It was an old wood ferry, that shook like a paint shaker.

              It finally sank in alaska.

Don't know if thats such a good name sake?

Hmmm ... Maybe Vashon would be a good name for a certain Seafair ...

P.S. I have to point out that this is the first time I've kidded Tim about this and it will be the last. Just too darn good an opening to pass up!

Steve, She was a cool ferry . Saw her on the San Juan Island run for many years. Here a picture of the " little problem " when it hit the rock in Alaska that was not on the charts. Third picture is when she ram the dock at Friday Harbor way back when. Chuck
