    Dept. of Social Health Services is looking for a skipper to make the daily run from Steilicoom to McNeil Island. It's not a ton of money, but the benefits are pretty good.

    Salary: $19.79 - $25.94 Hourly

    Duties:
    The Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island is recruiting for one Marine Boat/Tug Operator On-call position. This position, under the direction of the Marine Operations Supervisor, functions as Master on board passenger carrying vessels, provides safe, secure and dependable transportation between McNeil Island and Steilacoom, Washington, and performs major and minor repairs to equipment within the Marine Program. Operates the vessel in compliance with all Federal, State, local government and Agency policies, laws and regulations.

    Qualifications:
    Required Skills and Abilities
    · One year of experience as a Master, operating, piloting and maintaining marine vessels up to 100 gross tons

    · A valid radar observer endorsement


    · A valid United States Coast Guard license to operate uninspected towing vessels up to 100 gross tons

    · A valid United States Coast Guard license to operate an inspected passenger carrying vessel up to 100 gross tons

    · A valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)

    Note: A 500 ton license to operate inspected vessels and a current towing officer’s assessment record will substitute for towing license.
