  • Old pictures of dad's Wecco Clipper

Cleaning out dad's house and found lots of pictures I hadn't seen before. Here are a couple of dad's 1938 Wecco Clipper with Elto 22 horsepower outboard. New boat and motor, $250. He ran this boat in the 1938 Sammamish Slough race and came in second.

The bathing suit or the suit in picture 2? It seems that back then a man couldn't go out in public without a suit and tie. At least that's how it was in the movies.

            And a hat.

You couldn't go out the door without a hat. Not a base ball cap, a real honest to God Homburg or Fedora.

              Selma

Not sure who Selma was? I have several pictures of dad in the Wecco in suit and tie. He was head of the Boeing photo unit and wore a suit to work. Often took the boat out after work on Lake Washington or Puget Sound.

                Selma

Maybe Selma wasn't anybody. I once had a motorcycle named Beula. I've never known anyone anyone named Beula or Beulah. I just liked the name.

                    Tks for the Pics

Back in the 60's my parents first boat was a Montgomery Wards wooden kit with a 40 hp Sea Horse. We pulled one of those Ply wood wake boards, before we learned how to ski. Thanks for the memories. Pat
