Well on July 10th i decided maybe i had better go to the doctor. I did notice when GregJ and i went out to Lake Stevens on 9th of July to see how the Skagit proformed i did not feel all that well....real tired out. I thought it might be just the heat (90) and excitement of the day. I did decided to call my doctor and he was out for the day so i saw other doctor at the Cline that afternoon that ran me thru all of the tests and a physical and said i was in good shape except for one " little" thing. He showed me my chest x rays from 2008 and the newest one's. The x ray shows my heart has gotten bigger. Humm. So Thursday i had to go see a heart specialist and he gave me a run down what i can expect for the next three weeks or so. He did tell me, if i think i feel bad now it is going to get worst before it gets better because the pills i have to take are real strong? Boy was he right ! All i have been doing is watching old movies on the tube for the last 2 weeks and not able to sleep all night. Before this year all i had ever done was go to the doctor for a physical. So this last week i have to go back twice for another checkup and a Echocardiogram that show my heart is beating to fast. Sheila goes with me that's helps as i don't have to remember all of the details and this coming week for something else. This has been the year so far for doctors visits and oh yea my little epoxy thing in January. At this rate i 'am hoping i can still get to the La Conner Show in August boat or no boat. So far i have four new doctor friends ...that is and 4 new pills.

Well Chuck, it sure sounds like R&R is in order and time to tone it down some. None of us is getting any younger so maybe this boat is a keeper, no more boat restorations.
If I remember right, it was about done. So, the resting up, doing what your told might be the best thing like they say.
We need to keep you around for as long as we can so take it easy and enjoy some movies or whatever relaxes you. .. Stay the hell away from stressful things if you can.

Joe, Maybe you are right ,that this might be a keeper. I'am really glad that i had the boat more or less done. Sheila has a friend that is making up curtains for the cabin, at least i'am doing something. The curtains are not real fancy , but just nice looking in cabin with the burgundy colors. Today ( in between my company job ) have another doctors appointment to see if the pills have worked for slowing down the heartbeat some. Right now i feel i'am about 10 years older for the last two weeks ! Lol ! No more boats ? I hope not ! I still have the Dorsett that i was thinking about finishing from three years ago this winter.I hope things are ok with you !

Sorry to hear this, Chuck. Take it easy and do as the Dr. orders. Don't forget, you can rest and relax in your boat too. Bring a book and kick back. It may not be winter, but that doesn't mean you can't sit in her and dream...

Health problems are no fun Chuck. Ask your doctor about Metoprolol Tartrate. I've been on this stuff for five years to keep the afib in check. The only problems I have with it is when I forget to take it. Take care of yourself my friend.

In the shelter, in your garage with the little boat. Whatever. In the winter, just hanging out in the boat often gets me through the dulldrums.

Steve, Did you know that 40% of people over 60 have afib. My wife has it and also controls it with meds. I suspect that I might also have it but whenever I feel an attack coming on (once a year) I use a deep breathing technique and everything disappears.

wow, Chuck what a year! Full of ups and downs for sure. Keep the positive attitude as you always do Sir, you'll pull through. When are you getting the top done? When you do, I'll come up and do all the work to help get you out on the water for good conversation and a cool boat ride!

Kelly, I will be taking it out on the waters before the top is done. Scott will be doing that job. Thanks for the offer ! Chuck
