Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays in general

Been keeping track of this boat, maybe not a true classic, but I've determined Campions have a reputation for quality:

What do you all think of/know about this model of boat?

Seems like it might take more the one Bearcat 55 to power it…

I like it. Deep V hull. Is it foamed? If waterlogged,that will be a chore.

It looks pretty good. If the 80 sounds good/runs good, I'd keep it on there. I prefer the rounded look of the 50s/60s but the 70s are growing on me. I've seen a few late 70's boats on CL lately that look pretty good, kinda like this one:



The Campion looks like a good deal for the money.

The one thing you have to watch for is the foamed Core Hulls. I know Bell Boy made them but it was Doug Griffith that knew about them. They were a hull, then foam, then another hull on top of it.
The major problem was that Old closed cell foam would get water logged.
The 76 Fiberform had foam pockets on both sides of the keel, like a walkway down the keel and off to each side, were the table and such was, you had to step up onto it.
Both sides were compromised with water and the boat was so damn heavy, it would not preform.
I would find out what that boat is Supposed to weight from the factory, get the weight figured out of what is been added to it and roll it over some truck scales to see.

If that boat has that double hull (like more earlier to late 70's boats (and another reason I would stay the hell away from them) that had that double hull design to them, it now becomes, Expensive Yard Art !!!!

Beware of all 70's and early 80's Boats that had ANY foam in them. !! Once that double hull was compromised, NO fixing them.
