1960 Biesemeyer is in the shop for over a month

took my boat into the shop, went ahead and agreed to repair everything and it has been in their shop for a month. Today I called to check the status and they said the LOWER BEARING SEIZED and they are waiting for it to come in, said it will be extra but not sure how much.

Why would they even order it if I have not approved the work, how much extra do you think he will charge.

That's a seriously douche move!! A good shop would never order parts without consulting the customer!! Unless you, unknowingly, signed a contract that automatically allows them to order needed parts as long it's below a certain price point (typically $100)...
