  • Fine Day Yesterday in South Puget Sound

Bruce Bridwell organized a cruise in South Puget Sound Yesterday. Mother Nature served up some fine weather for the event. We cruised around Harstine Island with a stop at Jarrell's Cove State Park. Bruce, Kelly and Karl with Karls' friend (sorry forgot his name)and yours truly (McSkagit). About 25 nautical miles from Boston Harbor back to Boston Harbor.
I'll post a few more pictures later as well as some video I shot. There will be lots of pictures posted from the other participants. My new friend Jim at Boston Harbor also shot some amazing pictures from the dock. Need to scan those. A couple of those are framers.
Thanks for putting this together, Bruce.......
    Cheers,
    Tim aka McSkagit

Joe, I think this was a last minute event that came together in less than 24 hours.

        Helmar-
yes, this was very short notice, especially when we realized the 30th anniversary of Ferris Buehler's Day Off was celebrated on May 20-22 this year and we rushed to our happy place, South Puget Sound, for said celebration....

Here's a short video of the boats underway.

                      https://youtu.be/ZgogCAjy_DU

another one running under the Harstine bridge.

                      https://youtu.be/EpUqiLiVlK0

Both these are stabilized with Youtube's stabilizer, so they are a little fuzzy...

                      Enjoy.......

I'm impressed how all the boats seem to be happy at almost the same cruising speed! All different hull types/shapes and lengths yet non of them appear to be forced into an uncomfortable speed.

Also, the mirror like water makes the jealousy of missing out on the trip sting just a bit more...

Brian, We ran 14 to 16 knots mostly and yes all the hulls were happy at that speed. I know what it's like to have a boat not in the water. I missed a lot of events over the years.... Look forward to seeing yours out there....

Bruce's Skagit was amazing with that Evinrude! The hole shot and on plane is a sight to see for sure!
