1960 Skagit 17ft

I could not let this one go to the crusher. I hope to get it picked up this week.
As it stands, the motor, controls have been removed and the steering has been removed. It has a crack in the hull on aft starboard side of the transom. The hardest part is gaining access to it from the inside as it will need repaired from the inside and outside.

I am not sure what this one is if she is a Utility or a Skimaster ? Will know more once I get my hands on it. I think its a utility. Looks as all the brightwork is all there and not too bad of shape either.

Too bad they yanked the steering out...it had the original wheel.
It looks like a Utility to me based on the seating. The brochure I have from 1960 confirms that but if the plate is still there that will confirm it 100%
The pic I've included was from last year when I saw it. Cool boat for sure!

I will check it out and look for the plate. Been awhile since I have found any plates, seems most have been missing.. Pretty sure this Skimaster and Sportster I have, they are missing...
I had to save the boat.
I think you have more boats than I do now don't you

Up to 7 (6 Skagits), 4 out of 6 still have the original Hull ID plates.
I will say I don't have a 17 though...yet!

This thread has my interest. So when you say ski master, does it have an aft port steering wheel as well? If so my dad just aquired one.

All the Skagit Skimasters that I have seen have just the starboard steering up front..
I did not get to this boat quick enough so I think she is gone to the crusher. Sorry, I can't save them all.

Best thing to do is post a picture of the boat your Dad has acquired. We should be able to ID it for you.
