New Years Day- Lunch at Ivars

I may bring the Skagit 31 down. Sort of depends on weather forecast.

If I do I'll pick up a crew at Shilshole to help me through the locks. Maybe a couple of my kids and/or anyone else that might like to join me for the short cruise......

OK, so far it looks like we have 15 people planning on attending. I originally made the reservation for 15 people, so if you're planning on coming and haven't spoken up yet, please let me know so I can increase the reservation and make sure they have space for us.

We certainly aren't limited to any number, but we don't want to tell them 15 and show up with 20 or more.

      Thanks,

      Tim

Great! I know you have a vehicle with a heater, so if it's too cold to boat you can drive down! :cool1:

We have 17, do I hear 20? Anyone for 20?

You, in the back there, in the flannel ... what about you?

              I'll be there too!

It will be fun to share a meal and hear new and interesting stories. If the weather is nice maybe I'll go by boat. Is anyone interested in starting at the launch ramp under the I-90 bridge with me? Nice weather to me is above 45 degrees, no rain and wind under 10 knots.

                Boating in winter

I am planning to attend the New Year's lunch.

If I can convince a member of my crew to brave the weather we will have the Chris Craft out on the water. (unless the temperatures are below freezing, I can't afford to risk the inboard freezing during lunch)

                Happy Holidays!!!

Oops. Better scratch us. Not that we don't enjoy the company or the food but don't think either Becky or I are up for a drive to Seattle for lunch. Just getting old, I guess.

                            More details

Just spoke with Ivar's and upped our reservation from 15 to 25. :cool1:

On New Year's day they'll be serving their breakfast buffet, the cost is $25.00 per person, which is pretty much in line with what you'd spend for a nice lunch there other times. This is an all-you-can-eat :eating1: price including drinks (except, of course, for alcoholic beverages) and dessert.

The menu includes crepes, omelettes, oysters on the half shell, salmon, fruit salads, fish and chips, chowder and other yummy stuff.

We'll be in our own area near the buffet line, which is a big plus! Looking forward to seeing everyone there and having a great time!

The price of a good time ...

I've received a little negative feedback about the cost of the brunch buffet at Ivar's.

I know it's not exactly a cheap lunch if you're looking at it as just another lunch, but compared to what we usually spend on fuel for our boats and tow vehicles to attend an event it doesn't seem out of line to me for a special occasion.

If the consensus is that folks would rather do something else, please let me know right away.

                              Thanks,

                              Tim

In my humble opinion, $25.00 is actually a very reasonable buffet. Past buffets have cost much more. I would just consider Ivars a little Holiday gift for Diane, however, any other suggestions would certainly be O.K. It's not the location but the company that's important, right? The added benefit is the possibility of being able to get the boat out for a little New Years mini-cruise if the weather co-operates.:eating1:
