    This beautiful 1948 Buick Streamliner concept car restoration was just completed for the 2010 Concours d' Elegance. It's mid straight 8 engine sits in front of the real axle. Try this link for a short slide show:

    That kind of reminds me of some of those old Kaiser cars that were Way ahead of there time.
    I grew up working in my Dads Wrecking yard remembering all those Model A's and Model T's that he started out with.
    He had 6.5 acres of cars and trucks and always liked to keep a pretty good mix of them.
    I remember firing up flat head V12's and all kinds of off the wall engines.

    Makes me sad to think back of how many 55-57's in Ford and Chev convertibles that got loaded on the scrap truck and hauled down into Portland to the shredder. After the shredder, they started mashing them up into 4 cubic foot blocks..
    He sold the wrecking business in 1985 and died in 1989.
    I still have the Hollander Interchange manuals from those early years. Most of them are pretty oily looking and dog eared but fun to look though at times.
