      Thanks for posting Dan,

      Looking at the old boat junk in my collection, it is hard to imagine that it was all "state of the art" at some point, and that someone was cajoled into spending their hard earned wages to lug it home.

      If this stuff could talk...

        I dunno why, but I've always been fascinated with the 'good ole days' - even when I was a kid. My first car was 12 yrs older than me ('38 Chevy coupe) and then there's my current old boat. The '30s seem to be my obsession... streamlining... all kinds of engineering advances in efficiency, etc. (not that my Monk is a shining example!)

        Those old boat ads are just so... umm.. corny! Much like commercials today, they assume the public buys into a certain image, outlook, attitude, what-have-you, that seems bizarre to me. Or maybe I'm just one of those alienated types that has never 'fit in' with popular Madison Ave. style. <shrug>
